A Tribute to Wes Wehmiller

This is a live recording that Wes and I did of my song “I Miss You,” at Tom Langford’s studio. I loved the energy of this session so much that I decided to record my next album with just myself, Wes, and our friend David Leach on percussion.

I absolutely fell in love with the Wes’s bass part from this session, and when we went to record this song for my album, I begged him to reproduce his part note-for-note. Wes really didn’t want to try to copy something that had originally happened so spontaneously, so, after I finally let go of my attachment to what he did on this live recording, he recorded a haunting new bass part for the studio version of this song.
